Just a little about our Group ...
Amy Ladd
My name is Amy Robertson Ladd, born June 20, 1971. My parents, Marie & Robbie Robertson and brothers: Scott, David & Billy and my sister: Kathy all grew up in Sandston, Va. I had a wonderful childhood, I remember all of the birthdays, camping and holidays. My parents made sure we always had what we needed and more. I owe to them the foundation on which I live and I thank God every day for the gifts in my life.
Music has always been a part of everyday life. When we used to go camping the Staler Bros. and John Denver were the 8 tracks we would play! Over the years I would learn songs and sing them over and over. I would make my parents, brothers and friends listen to new tunes...what fun!!!
After High School I joined with some friends and we started a country band. Inspired by songs from Patty Loveless and Trisha Yearwood. Then around 1990 I met my husband, Preston Ladd. We hit it off right away with the same interest in music and song choices. Preston is great guitar player, he can find the chords to any song! So, we were married September 16, 1995. And soon after came our daughter, Audrey. She was born March 25, 1997. Having a family and working kept us busy for several years.
However, we always had time for music. As members of Sandston Baptist Church we would occasionally lead special music. Then in 1997, Big John Trimble called and wanted to start an old time Opry Show. So, for several years we had the opportunity to play music and sing with country music legends like: Kitty Wells, Jack Greene, John Conley, David Frizzell and Jean Shephard..to name a few.
Then around 2002 Preston and I decided to make a Country/Bluegrass Gospel CD. We wanted something to have for the family. With Preston's kidney transplant we learned quickly that life is very fragile and God wants you to use your gifts for Him. I love singing Gospel music and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. As God will lead, I will follow. We now have 2 CD's and enjoy traveling around to share God's message through songs of inspiration, trial and joy.
In addition to the music I have had the opportunity to CO Host with Juide Balackie, "Sunday Morning Gospel" program over am950 WXGI. What a blessing to work with Judie and share music with so many listeners! Tune in...as we "Seek, share and spread the word of the Lord through music, fellowship and faithfulness"
Thanks for your time..I hope you will come see us if you can! Please keep us in your prayers as we "Travel the Highway Home"
God Bless You!

Preston Ladd
My name is Preston Ladd. I am the third of nine children, raised in Charles City, Virginia. I have four brothers and four sisters. I grew up in a musical family. Both parents and my oldest brother, Tommy, played guitar. My next to oldest brother, Mike, played drums. I started out playing guitar and later taught myself the bass guitar. I have been exposed to all types of music. My parents liked classic country, my brothers liked rock-n-roll and my classmates likes motown and beach music. I started playing in public in 1980 with the Ladd Brothers Band. Over the past 20 years I have played with a number of different country and bluegrass bands. Some of my favorite music jobs have been with Grand Ole Opry stars such as; Jack Green, Tommy Cash, Kitty Wells, Stonewall Jackson, David Frizzell, John Conley, and Jim & Jesse McReynolds to name a few. I have a 17 year old son, Preston Jr. From a previous marriage. My wife (Amy Ladd) and I have been married since 1995 and have daughter named Audrey. I received a kidney from my sister, Kathy, November 2002. I had polysystic disease which causes your kidneys’ not to function. My father died from this disease at the young age of 49. I feel truly blessed to have such a loving and giving sister. She definitely gave me a special gift. We both are doing great so far. I have had a couple set backs over the past six months but I feel better and stronger every day! The power of prayer and God’s love keep me going! I have made such good friends over the past couple of years and had the opportunity to play and sing music I love! I look forward to many more years of music and fun. Thank you! Preston Ladd

Randy Litton
My name is Randall S. Litton, born January 10, 1963 in Richmond, Virginia. I started playing guitar at age 5, seriously at age 13. My parents gave me my first guitar. When I was 18, my mom gave me a choice of an electric guitar or a class ring. Mom said some girl will end up with the ring, not the guitar! So from then on I went on to play all different styles of music. At home it was Country and Bluegrass, at school it was Rock & Roll, Blues, Heavey Metal & Hard Rock. After listening to a 70's release of a Merle Haggard and the Strangers Live 8-Track Tape, I was hooked! Then Ricky Skaggs changed the music we know as country. It was and still is cool to be country! In 1986, I joined the band Virginia. This was the first group of musicians that loved to write and record their own tunes. A few years later I teamed up with Jimmy Curry & Dubby Rod and formed a band called Highways & Heartaches. Winning many contests and awards and recording 2 studio albums: "Somebody's Kind of Fool" & "We have the Nights" I have had the pleasure of playing with some of the best musicians in the state of Virginia, as well as opening for stars like: John Anderson, Leroy Parnell, Linda Davis & Rhett Akins to name a few. After 14 years of making music it came to an end when the leader of the band was relocated to Kentucky. However, it wasn't long before I started playing in Homefire Band. In 2000 I built my own Recording studio and launched a publishing company. Writing and Recording is my true passion. With a Bluegrass Album in the works! I have gained many friends and contacts and hopefully I will have some songs recorded. Now playing with Amy & Preston Ladd this gives me the chance to hone my craft of writing more music and playing the mandolin. If you would like to conatct me send an email to: RandyLitton @ Aol.com I look forward to hearing from you! Randy was awarded: 1998 Third Place VFMA Electric Guitar 2001 VFMA Secon Place Electric Guitar & Second Place Male Vocalist 1991 Virginia Society of Coposers and Lyricist Bluegrass Song of the Year "Never Going Home"

Donnie Ladd
My name is Donald Ladd; I was born April 14, 1957. My parents, Thomas Sr. and Goldie Ladd that now reside in a mansion in heaven with two of their children. I’m number four of nine children, raised in Charles City Virginia. Growing up in our wonderfully large family we enjoyed camping and music, we owned one guitar that we shared between both parents and two of my brothers. Our funds were limited growing up in a large family, but we were never poor because the love of God and family is priceless. The time that was spent listening and playing music as a family instead of playing video games or sitting in front of a television gave us great memories that will be with us forever. I was married on June 4, 1976 to my wife of 31 years, Sharlene Price Ladd. We have two sons and one grandson and will soon have another grandchild. We are very proud of our sons that have served our great Country, Donnie in the United States Air Force and Jeff in the United States Army. We as a family enjoy camping, water sports, and playing music around campfires with family and friends. My wife and I are members of Fort Lee Baptist Church near Richmond International Airport. I enjoy playing guitar with Amy Ladd and Friends as this has given me the opportunity to spread the word of God through music. I look forward to sharing our music with you.
God Bless the World!
